Other bikes I've built

Over the years I've built a few nice bikes, but I always grew tired of them and sold them at fire sale prices. My first was a Kawasaki Kz650 that I got from a guy named John Beardsley. I think John was proud of my work, but if he only knew about the guy I sold it to... That's a truely sad story.

One of my weak spots is "before" pictures... I never seem to take any!

In this area I'll include a list of all the material necessary to perform the tasks I'm describing on this page.

Can you tell that I really love old Kawi's?

This was an old race bike that I resurected for the street. Someone else tried to do this, but many bits were missing, I hunted down many parts, but gave up and fabricated a bunch of stuff myself.

1984 GPZ 750 project in progress. This bike was a lime green mess when I first got it!

At least now I have the proper tools and a place to work on this stuff. I started out with a few hand tools and an airbrush, now I have compressors, air tools, welders, warehouse space and a forklift to raise them up while I work on them!

Even after I redid this Gpz I couldn't get a minor tweak out of the forks, and it always ran a little sideways!

My second bike was a Kawasaki Kh400 triple two stroke. Again an old racer that I brought back to the street. When I got done I found that it had way too much power, and was too scary to ride.

This is the last time I redo an old race bike!
